Cardiovascular Diseases Summit In Accra

Ghana Cardiovascular summit 2011 was successfully held in Ghana�s capital Accra. The summit saw a pool of specialist doctors from different medical and pharmacy oriented background and from different parts of the country to throw light on cardiovascular diseases. Some of the medical professionals include: Dr. Kodjo Soroh, Professor Adukwei Hesse, a Health Consultant, Dr. Rada Bulley, Dr. E.K. Amable, Dr. Charlotte Osafo, a Kidney Expert, Dr. Isaac Owusu, and Professor Peter Lansberg among others. Some of the topics treated were; �Assessment and Management of Cardiovascular Risk�, �Cardiovascular Risk Management in Diabetics: what is wrong?� �Approach to management of Dyslipidaemia in patients with chronic kidney Disease� among other important topics. Professor Adukwei Hesse, the CEO and Consultant of Executive Health Care Consult Ltd in an interview with the media said many Ghanaians are taking their Health issues seriously. He said there is the need for adults in particular above 40 years to at least check their Health status once in a year. By so doing Prof. Hesse noted people would get to know earlier if they have High Blood (PB) Pressure or not and if they have - early treatment could be sought. On his part Dr. Kokjo Soroh said Cardiovascular diseases have increased in recent time hence the need to convene the summit to get doctors to pass critical information on the problem across. He said if people would eat less fatty foods, exercise the body and rest adequately, cardiovascular and obesity related diseases would reduce.
