John Jinapor Denies STX Story...BUT

OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT PRESS STATEMENT 08th August, 2011 Re: Govt Should Abrogate STX Housing Project Contract - John Jinapor My attention has been drawn to an article circulating in the various electronic media with the headline "Government Should Abrogate STX Housing Project Contract attributed to me. For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state emphatically that I have not made any statement in the media calling for the abrogation of the STX Housing Project Contract or on Peace Fm. Indeed at no point did I ever state that the STX contract should be abrogated. This is certainly a concocted story by mischievous people whose objective is certainly aimed at tarnishing my image. On the said Peace Fm program in which I was a panelist I did expressed confidence in the project and lauded government for fulfilling it's part of the contractual obligation and went further to plead with the directors of STX to settle whatever difference they may have in order to see the successful implementation of the projects. It is therefore not only surprising but unfortunate for some misguided elements to put a twist on my otherwise positive comments and portray my comments in such a negative manner. It is my hope that fair minded Ghanaians would treat this story with the contempt that it deserve and further reaffirm my conviction in the STX housing deal. Thank you. Signed JOHN ABDULAI JINAPOR (SPOKESPERSON TO H. E. THE VICE PRESIDENT)
