NPP To Set Up Prayer Camps

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is really intent on wrestling power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 General Elections and therefore is leaving no stone unturned in that regard, judging from its decision to embark on a bit of a "spiritual exercise. Knowing how crucial divine intervention can be if a Party is to be successful in an election, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John, has directed all constituencies in the various regions to set up prayer camps. Quoting extensively from the Holy Scriptures in support of the directive, (Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path"), Sir John stated that there was no way the NPP can do without God and so the party was determined to place the Supreme One first in the affairs of their campaign. We need to pray towards the 2012 election we believe if we put our trust in God and in Allah God will help us to win the election. We cannot trust or depend on our own strength he added. Speaking in an interview on CitiFM, the NPP Chief Scribe stressed the importance of seeking the face of God at all times and acknowledged that without Gods intervention their flagbearer cannot win the 2012 election. "...there is no strategic way for the party to go about the prayer camp....everything depends on the various constituencies," he said. Interestingly, the NPP in March 2009 accused President Mills of having turned the Castle, the seat of government into a "prayer camp."
