Man Loses Legs In Accident

N UNIDENTIFIED man has reportedly lost his legs after the bus on which he was travelling collided with another vehicle. Three other people sustained serious injuries. The incident happened last Friday morning around 11:40 am at the Asikuma Junction. The collision was between a Ho-Accra bound Urvan Bus with registration number, GT 688 Q and a blue Toyota Pick Up truck with registration number GR 2500 J, which was from the Peki Road towards the Asikuma Junction. According to Forster Tay, the driver of the Urvan bus whose passengers were injured, the pickup was speeding towards the junction and suddenly lost control. He said the truck suddenly crossed the bus which had 12 passengers onboard with two in the front, leaving him with no option but to crash into it. In the process, a man at the front passenger seat instantly had his legs fractured while three others suffered severe injuries. However, the driver and mate of the pick-up truck survived unhurt and immediately took to their heels after the accident, leaving their vehicle behind. The casualties were rushed to the Peki Government Hospital for treatment. No deaths were recorded.
