Drama unfolded at the crowded Akim Oda District Magistrate Court last Friday when a 60-year-old pastor and a 31-year-old farmer accused each other of flirting with their girlfriend.
Pastor Kwesi Agyekum of the Christ Healign Church at Akim Bantama in the Birim Central Municipality sued the farmer, Kwaku Saa for GH� 4,000 for not only flirting withteh girlfriend but also disgracing him in public and bringing his hard won reputation into disrepute.
Narrating his side of the case to the court, presided over Mr. Owusu Annor, Pastor Agyekum said sometime last week, he visited his girlfriend in her bedroom at Bantama is the night.
He said whilst sleeping with his girlfriend, Saa suddenly entered the room without knocking and saw them in the act, leading to a quarrel with each of them accusing the other of snatching his girlfriend.
He said no sooner had Saa left the scene than he started spreading the news about what happened in the room to other people in the area.
Pastor Agyeum said the behavior of Saa had compelled many of his church members to leave the church.
For his part, Saa claimed that the woman was his girlfriend with whom he had had a relationship for a very long time, claiming Pastor Agyekum was using money to influence her.
After listening to both parties, the magistrate asked Pastor Agyekum whether he had a wife and children and he answered in the affirmative.
He further questioned him if his wife knew that he had a girlfriend and he answered no.
