Doctors at the Korle Bu Cardiothoracic Centre are reported to have laid down their tools to demand the re-instatement of their dismissed Chief Executive.
Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng was summarily relieved of his post on Friday by the Minister of Health. According to the Minister, Professor Frimpong Boateng had sought and obtained permission to transfer from the Ministry of Health to the University of Ghana Medical School in 2000.
A doctor who spoke on condition of anonymity told the media he and his colleagues had resolved to withhold their services until a proper reason was given for Prof Frimpong Boateng�s dismissal or he was reinstated.
