Labourer Jailed 10 Years For Robbing Policeman

A 20-year-old labourer, Awudu Moro who stole a police officers laptop computer, was on Monday slapped with a 10-year jail term by a Takoradi Circuit court. He was charged with stealing and causing unlawful damage and the court convicted him on his own plea of guilty. Chief Inspector Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over by Mr. Charles Bamford Nimako that on August 15 Corporal Salomey Osei Antwi placed her laptop computer on the counter at the charge office and went to the station officers office to pick her mobile phone. On her return she spotted the convict escaping through the window with her laptop computer. She chased him in her car but he threw the computer against the cars windscreen, smashing it in the process and causing damage to the laptop computer and escaped. The prosecutor said on August 23 Corporal Antwi saw the convict at the Takoradi Beach Road and arrested him.
