"Bishop Obinim Needs Psychological Help"

The Chief Psychiatrist at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Akwasi Osei, has diagnosed that the beleaguered preacher man Bishop Daniel Obinim needs psychological support to overcome the trauma he has been through. According to Dr. Osei, recent scandals surrounding Bishop Obinim, who is the General Overseer of the Gods Way International Ministries, have the potential of crippling his confidence and could possibly ruin his career as a Pastor. News broke weeks ago of a secret love affair between Bishop Daniel Obinim and the wife of a junior pastor of his church. Days later, he stormed the offices of an Accra-based radio station, assaulted a presenter and studio guests, and vandalized equipment worth over Gh130,000, leading to his arrest and prosecution. The matter is still in court, although Bishop Obinim and his two accomplices have been granted bail. In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Osei underscored the need for Bishop Obinim to seek psychological mentoring but indicated: psychological does not mean that he is mentally ill but he has gotten to a point where he is psychologically stressed up now, he is traumatized. He would need to go out of the limelight of the media for some prayerful meditation for him to fully come to terms. Indeed the psychological counsel would help him to come to terms with the reality. In the meantime he should not continue with his church activities, I think he should just lay low and go through the psychological counsel and prayerful meditation. He should also go back to his mentors including Bishop Agyin Asare who earlier mentored him and to whom he showed some disrespect. He should go and render his apology and get him and other people of his kind to intercede on his behalf.
