A second year student of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi, Western Region, has allegedly killed herself after her boyfriend reportedly jilted her. Miss Mary Rudolf, 18, is said to have committed suicide by drinking a substance believed to be poison on September 13, 2011. According to DSP Ayamga Akologo, Kwesimintsim District Police Commander, Miss Rudolf�s body had been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy. The police commander said the deceased lived in hostel at Takoradi, but the incident happened at her parent�s home at Apowa near the regional capital, where she went to after closing from school. He said Mary came home on September 12, 2011 looking �totally depressed� but when the mother, Madam Sophia Rudolf, enquired about her (deceased) mood swings, she did not offer any explanation. The mother was said to have asked Mary�s best pal if she knew what was wrong with her daughter, but the friend did not seem to know what the matter was. According to the police, at about 11:00pm on September 13, 2011, Madam Rudolf noticed her daughter was awake and sweating profusely. She therefore rushed the deceased, first to Kwesimintsim Government Hospital, and later, upon referral, to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, where she died. The mother was later told that Mary drunk some insecticide because her lover in Tarkwa had jilted her.
