A pro-National Democratic Congress youth group in Tamale, the Coalition for Youth Northern Association, has vowed to stay away from any NDC 2012 campaign until the Mills-led administration accords the Rawlingses their proper right of place in the affairs of the party.
According to the group, there is a grand scheme by the leadership of the ruling party to sideline and humiliate the founder of the party, former president Jerry Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
The spokesperson for the group, Ayuba Minu told Citi News until the right things are done; they will not take part in the NDC�s campaign for 2012.
�The point is that the party as at now, is trying to make the Rawlings out as people who do not have anything to offer this country, especially the NDC, so we think that it is important we let the whole country know that without the Rawlingses coming on board, we will have nothing to do with the party and will not let our people vote,� Minu said.
The youth group said that the tremendous contribution of the former first family could not be understated and accused the government of their inability to utilize the constructive criticism, occasionally expressed by the former president.
Minu commended the former first family, adding that his group will continue to support them.
