Aliu Mahama Invited To Gambia

FORMER VICE President Alhaji Aliu Mahama has been invited to chair the internationally-acclaimed Security Watch Africa Awards/Lecture in The Gambia, at the Sheraton Gambia Hotel Resort and Spa, Brufut Heights from October 13-14, 2011. A formal invitation letter to the former Ghanaian vice president dated August 10, 2011, and issued by Patrick Agbambu, the International Coordinator/CEO of Security Watch Africa said, �The Security Watch Africa�s Board of Trustees considered your great contribution towards the socio-political and economic development of the West African sub region and decided to have you as the Chairman of both the 2011 Lecture series and the awards ceremony.� The awards/lecture series have been running annually since 2004 and have been hosted in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa respectively. This year�s event, which is on the theme �Can Africa Get Its Security and Infrastructure Right�, promises to be credible, classy, glamorous and full of finesse in a beautiful ambience of The Gambia. In attendance dignitaries would be current and past awards recipients and guests from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Kenya, Senegal, Cote d�Ivoire, Tanzania, Gambia and Mozambique. High profile personalities from governments and organisations across Africa are expected to participate in the programme. A number of Heads of Africa Governments including presidencies and state governors and regional governments; heads of Africa parliaments/national assemblies and security chiefs/ personnel from various African countries would be attending the programme. Also expected to be in attendance are representatives of foreign embassies serving in various African countries, Africa Media Executives, captains of industries and banks.
