NDC Vets Parliamentary Aspirants

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vetted 13 parliamentary aspirants for three constituencies that have non-NDC members of parliament. Mr. Eric Dakurah, the Regional Secretary of NDC, told the GNA in an interview in Wa that Madam Alice Boon, a former Member of Parliamentary for Jirapa/Lambussie, is the only woman in the race vying for the Lambussie/ Karni seat with Mr. Clement B. Benni, Lambussie/Karni District Chief Executive as a contender. Ghana�s Ambassador in Egypt, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana and Mr. Zakaria Braimah, Upper West Regional Officer of the Food and Drugs Board, are contesting for the Sissala West seat. Mr. Benjamin Kunbour, the Minister of Interior, is contesting the Lawra/Nandom seat while Mr. Aminu Salifu, Wa East District Chief Executive and Mr. Seidu Saani, an officer at the Land Commission are among others gunning for the Wa East seat. Mr. Dakurah said the party was working round the clock to elect credible and time-tested candidates in the constituencies to help win back the three seats that they lost to the New Patriotic Party and the People�s National Convention.
