NDC Safeguards Rocky Marriage Of Convenience

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has frozen all primaries in constituencies where the Peoples National Convention (PNC) has seats in order to safeguard their rocky marriage of convenience. The ruling partys swift directive aimed at sustaining the relationship between them and the PNC in parliament followed a publication in The Globe newspaper quoting the General Secretary of the minority party, Bernard Mornah, saying they have been betrayed. However, the Majority Leader in Parliament, Cletus Avoka, has confirmed to Citi News that the issue has been resolved. The information I get from the general secretary is that the NDC is going to freeze the primaries in these two PNC constituencies that is Builsa South, Sisala West and Wulensi constituency of the region, he revealed. He said the national executive committee of the NDC and the functional executive committee would be meeting on the issue on Wednesday and would issue a statement on that later in the day. But the General Secretary indicates that they have even sent words round to their regional executives urging them to suspend the primaries in these constituencies. We are keeping faith with the agreement we have with the PNC and we will not do anything to undermine that relationship, Avoka promised.
