PNC walks out of IPAC meeting

The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has walked out of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting called on Friday at the Electoral Commission, Citi News can confirm. The partys general secretary, Bernard Monarh, who is representing the party at the meeting told Citi News the gathering is just a window dressing exercise. The meeting was called at the behest of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the PNC after having raised the red flags cautioning the EC that the path it was taking with regards to the biometric register and intended decision to demarcate new constituencies would compound the existing problems of the electoral process. We thought that we were coming to make contributions to enrich the process, but as we came the Electoral Commission has certainly decided they are sure of what they are doing, they have concluded on what they want to do, Monarh said. All they have done is to call us here to inform us. I am particularly unhappy, he added. The PNC scribe said the Commission has not been fair to the parties by giving them reference sources to go and check on the technical abilities of the equipment they will be using for the biometric register.
