Leave Gbevlo Lartey Alone NDC Constituencies Chairmen

The Association of Central Regional Constituencies Chairmen of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to those demanding the removal of Lieutenant-Colonel (Lt-Col) Gbevlo Lartey (Rtd) from office as National Security Co=ordinator, to allow him to perform his duties unrestrained. Speaking at a meeting of the Association at Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District, Mr Stephen Edward Moore, President of the group, said Lt. Col. (Rtd) Lartey was a dependable member of the NDC, who did not deserve the punishment some people were urging the government to mete out to him. Mr Moore said the National Security Coordinator has done enough to protect the image of the party and also helped to ensure that there was peace in the country and we think he deserves commendation than condemnation. Mr Moore said the accusation being leveled against the Security Coordinator that he was supporting his son, who wanted to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries was untenable and asked who would desert his child when he decides to contest an election. The president of the group appealed to President John Evans Atta Mills to ignore the appeal for the removal of the security capo from office and said lets do things that would encourage people to die for the party and mother Ghana than to restrain them with spurious allegations.
