Hundreds Of Supporters Of NPP Accord Akufo Addo

Hundreds of members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the weekend accorded Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the party�s flag bearer for the 2012 elections, a rousing welcome to all the eleven towns he visited at the weekend to begin a two-day tour of some parts of Brong-Ahafo. Nana Addo, who was NPP�s flag bearer in the 2008 elections, was accompanied by Mr. Boakye Agyarko, manager of his campaign team, Mr. Lord Commey, director of operations and Nana Gabriel Nketiah, a former Ambassador to South Korea. Addressing a mammoth rally at Techimantia in Tano South after he had visited some towns and villages in the constituency, Nana Addo advised the people especially those above the age of 18 to register when the Electoral Commission (EC) begins the voter registration exercise. He explained that the exercise �is new because names in the old voter�s register will not be valid anymore for the 2012 general election.�Those who have attained 18 years and above should all register when the exercise begins�, the flag bearer stated. Nana Akufo Addo indicated that the education at the second cycle level was still a priority area for him as he indicated during the 2008 electioneering campaign. �The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) must be improved and to function efficiently and effectively, whilst the cocoa spraying exercise should be of national concern�, he said. Mr. Andrew Adjei Yeboah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, said he had released GHC40,000 towards the expansion and rehabilitation of the Maternity Ward at the Techimantia Health Centre. At Breme, Nana Amankwaah Yiadom, chief of the town, thanked the NPP presidential candidate for the visit and gave the assurance that the Traditional council would support any candidate who would be elected by Ghanaians as President for accelerated national development Other towns Nana Addo and his campaign team visited were; Brosankro Old and New towns, Ohia, Mansin, Adaa, Ankaase, Derma, Dwomo and Bechem. On Monday the NPP flag bearer will visit six towns in the Tano North constituency. At Duayaw-Nkwanta, he will pay a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief and his elders, visit operators at the main lorry station, market, Serwaa Kese Senior High School (SHS), Boakye Tromo SHS and Margaret Bouchner Vocational School. Nana Addo will also visit Subonpan town, the local Methodist JHS, Dwenwase, Ansen-Community Health Nursing Training School at Tanoso, Sukuumu and Afrisipa, to end the Tano North Constituency tour.
