The Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) has received with dismay a certain misconception created in the media in the past few days that FONKAR has an anti-NDC agenda. We want to state clearly that FONKAR as the name implies Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings stands to espouse, promote, defend and perpetuate the endearing legacy of former First Lady of Ghana and President of the 31st DWM whose legacy includes the NDC party that was founded based on the ideals and principles of H.E former President Jerry John Rawlings - her husband. We wish to state without equivocation that FONKAR stands to defend the best interest of the NDC and the original values that form its foundation. It is such an unfortunate new development in the NDC where anybody who questions the silence of our leadership to the obvious attempt to obliterate the very foundation of the NDC is tagged anti-NDC including even the very founder of the NDC. We in FONKAR will remain resolute and focused in our quest to restore the core values and ideals that gave birth to the great NDC. In our humble opinion, this is the only way we can restore and respect the dignity within the rank and file of our great party - a precondition to bring our party supporters out of the current apathy and bring back the much needed enthusiasm required to give victory to the NDC in election 2012. We are using this opportunity to inform the general public that FONKAR is currently undergoing a vigorous restructuring that will ensure a stronger and more committed association for the true NDC - the party that upholds without compromise, the principles of probity, accountability and social justice.
