Nduom Is A Snake

The editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Ken Kuranchie, has condemned the flagbearer aspirant of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, describing him as a snake for claiming credit for some achievements attained during the Kufuor administration. Dr. Nduom said at the announcement of his intention to contest for the flagbearer slot of his party on Wednesday that he was the brain behind the new Pension Scheme, the National Identification System, the Millennium Challenge Account and the controversial Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS). Speaking on Citi FMs Saturday political talk show program, The Big Issue, Mr. Kuranchie expressed amazement at Dr. Nduoms claims. He described the former minister for public sector reform as a snake nurtured by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which has now turned round to bite the party. All of us in politics should learn valuable lessons from the way and manner Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has conducted himself since 2007 when he resigned from the Kufuor administration to further his presidential ambitions, he said. We should be careful how we bring snakes home because they turn to bite you down the line. So for anybody who was part of a government and a decision that was taken at cabinet level and given ascent to by the President and for that person to come out of the system and say that all the things that this people did I gave them the idea. That is why I say that we should be careful about how we bring snakes home because they turn to bite when they grow up. Meanwhile, colleague panelist and member of the CPP, Ekow Duncan, disagreed with him. He said Dr. Nduoms claims could be valid because he might have initiated those policies for the government. He said once the policies are initiated it becomes the initiative of the government but the idea was initiated by the sector Minister hence Nduoms comment cannot be wrong.
