Reliance Launches Batteries

Reliance Trading Company Limited, dealers in car batteries, tires and air conditioners, launched United States- manufactured Continental Supreme and Ibex brand car batteries in Tema to signify their entry into the Ghanaian market. In a brief ceremony at the Ghana Haulage Association Union car park premises in Tema on Tuesday, the Managing Director of Reliance Ltd., Kofi Owusu, announced that currently Reliance are the sole agents for the batteries in the country and West Africa, with depots in Benin, Togo and Burkina Faso. Announcing the features that make the product stand out among its competitors, Mr.Owusu noted that Continental Supreme batteries are widely used in the United States where it is manufactured as a leading battery for motor vehicles, and is especially used for renowned brands like Mercedes Benz, BMW and Toyota vehicles assembled in the United States. He said the outstanding features of the product are the longer shell life of, averagely, four years-one touch start, tropicalised for temperatures in Africa and Asia, as well as being available in all sizes. Mr. Owusu noted that the batteries are the best value for money on the market today and said retail outlets like Koala, Rana Motors, and Hauri Enterprises are sales points for the product in question. He said his company has been in business for seven years and they sell over 1,000 batteries monthly. Mr. Owusu was hopeful that with the high- quality car batteries now in stock, their sales would increase to an average of not less than 2,000 batteries per month. He used the launch to appeal to all vehicle owners looking out for superior quality to patronise Continental and Ibex brand of batteries for value for money.
