Kufuor And JJ Rawlings Have Not Rejected Trasacco Mansions - Ablakwa

A deputy Minister for Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has stated that ex-Presidents John Kufuor and Jerry John Rawlings have not rejected the plush mansions allocated them by the Mills administration at the exquisite Trasacco Valley Estates. According to him, although spokespersons for the two former presidents have publicly stated that the offer have been rejected by their bosses, no official communication has been made to the ruling NDC government. He said the keys to the houses offered them have also not been returned. We have not been officially communicated to by the two former presidents that they are rejecting the Trasacco Valley house, Ablakwa told Citi News on Monday. The keys are still with them and they have not replied our letter which we wrote offering them the house. The keys have not been returned to us. It is some aides who are speaking and we do not know if they have the consent of the former presidents and we do not know the bases for this rejection considering the fact that they have not returned the keys to us, the deputy information minister claimed. Frank Agyekum, the spokesperson of Kufuor, told Citi News last week that his boss has rejected keys to a plush mansion at the Trasacco Valley Estates from government. He said the former president rejected the keys to the mansion that was presented to them four weeks ago, because their input was not been adequately taken and surprisingly they dont even know the location of the house and what went into the building construction. The news of the rejection followed that of former president Rawlings who also was reported to have rejected a temporary accommodation at the same venue. A spokesperson to ex-President Rawlings, Kofi Adams told Citi News that the former president rejected the temporary home offered him by the government because, in his view, it was incompatible with the NDC founders moderate lifestyle. He added that the mansion was also rejected because it was not a permanent, but a temporary accommodation and since Rawlings was not ready to move into a makeshift accommodation, the offer was humbly declined. However, Ablakwa stated since no official communication has been made it cannot be deemed as a rejection by the former presidents.
