Government Is Scheming Against Me - Teye Nyaunu

The Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya constituency, Michael Teye Nyaunu, has corroborated a claim by a former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, that the government is sponsoring a candidate against him. Hon. Nyaunu mentioned the deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Teye Larbi, as the aspiring candidate being sponsored by government to contest him for the seat. Mr. Nyaunu is, however, not so certain about his chances against the deputy Eastern regional minister, adding that the minister has a huge resource base as he has already started distributing cutlasses and Wallington boots to the people in the constituency. Speaking to Citi News the outspoken MP said he has evidence that there was a government sponsored meeting to that effect. I heard that they went for a meeting and they said it should be the DCE, but later they realized it is tough on the ground so they changed the DCE to the deputy Eastern regional minister, Nyaunu said. He has even launched his campaign and has said that he is coming to redeem the image of the constituency. He has been going round to meet my delegates. His banners and posters are already in town. Hon. Nyaunu noted that he is left with no option than battle the deputy minister to ensure that he does not take his seat from him. He added: What I am going to do is to fight him, I am going to compete him because if you report, you would realise that people are doing worst things in other constituencies and nobody seems to be in charge so we are just going to fight like that if that would help the party.
