'More Rains Expected In Coming Days'

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has predicted more heavy rains in the coming days. Heavy rains on Tuesday night caused intense flooding in some parts of the capital city, Accra. The agency said heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms are also expected in some parts of the country including Eastern, Volta, Ashanti, Western, Central regions. According to officials of the agency, this trend would continue until the end of the month and early next month. The weather forecaster on duty, Felicity Ahafianyo told Citi News Ghanaians in areas expected to experience heavy downpour should follow the various updates the agency gives to the public to enable them re-schedule their activities in the coming days. She said it is possible to have the same intensity or slightly above what we experienced on Tuesday. But in terms of rains over the Southern sector, we are in the minor season and the dry winds are also setting in so in the afternoons you should expect rains, not only over Accra but over the other parts of the country. From now till the end of October into the early part of November we should still expect rain and November to December is the start of the dry season but that does not mean that we would not have some rains.
