Some 17 recruited police officers who took their authorities to court for unfair treatment have seen the ruling given in their favour for a second time.
The 17 whose belongings were thrown out from the Tesano Police Depot where they were being housed saw their appointments terminated after they were charged with exposing internal matters of the Ghana Public Service to the general public.
The Daily Guide Newspaper and Metro TV aired the plight of the officers without their concern, and were arraigned before the service inquiry where they were not allowed to give their version of the case.
The issue was sent to court where the court ruled in their favour in October last 2010 after authorities said they were not convinced the ruling was in favor of them so they asked for a second ruling where the police authorities lost.
The ruling which was presided over by Justice Edward Amoako Asante found the IGP guilty of unlawful dismissal.
In an interview with Citi News, the Lawyer for the 17 ex police recruits Joseph Kofi Yeboah said he will do all in his power to bring the IGP to order or removed if he doesn�t do the right thing.
According to the lawyer �we served the order on the IGP and for that matter the Police Administration and they never budged.
�For almost a year now they have never moved an inch towards reinstating them so I cited the IGP for contempt because we came under order 55 of C. I 47 so they threw the application out today.
�We are going back to the High Court on Monday 31st for the application for contempt which is still pending against the IGP for failing to abide by the orders of the court.
�The IGP himself is under the Minister of Interior and he is even under the Deputy Minister of Interior.
"If he does not honour the orders of the court, he should be convicted and that would result in his removal from office. �
