"Ghana Is Under A 'Spineless And Soulless Leadership'"

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, believes the strained relationship between former President JJ Rawlings and incumbent John Mills would not be the deciding factor in the 2012 general elections. Mr. Afriyie popularly known as Sir John said the spineless and soulless leadership under President Mills and other bread and butter issues would inform the decision of Ghanaians come the 2012 polls of Ghana. According to him, former President Rawlings has served his time and will not matter in the upcoming elections. Sir John said the decision for Rawlings to campaign or abstain from garnering support for the ruling party should be left to him alone to decide. Whether or not ex-President Rawlings would join the NDC in fighting the 2012 election is a matter for him to decide and not the NPP," the general secretary said. "As we speak the nation is rugged and we do not have any leader as far as I am concerned." There is a spineless and soulless leadership in this country and that is what would matter in 2012 and not Rawlings." Meanwhile, the Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Richard Quashigah has condemned the NPPs description of the presidency and called on Ghanaians to judge political parties by their statements and vote accordingly.
