NDC Man In Trouble...

A FETISH priest at Tema Newtown has exposed a contract allegedly offered to him to paralyze the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tema-East, Kofi Brako. Togbe Holunya alleged that Kojogah Degagbe, the National Democratic Congress Youth (NDC) Organizer for Tema-East, contracted him for a fee of GH1,200 to paralyze Kofi Brako aka K.B and kill one Ernest Ahorli, a former NDC organizer turned NPP volunteer, but he refused. The fetish priest, who claimed to have assisted Kojogah to win the Dade-Agbo electoral area assembly seat, noted that he abhorred killing human beings. He added that since his shrine did not kill or destroy but protected and helped people, he would never commit murder. Consequently, he reported Kojogah Degagbe to Ernest Ahorli, who in turn summoned him to the Ewe chiefs palace. Togbe Holunya, a key witness in the case, made the astonishing revelation at the Tema Newtown palace last Friday in the presence of the Ewe Chief, Togbe Datsormor, Kojogah Degagbe, NPP executives in Tema and some elders of the palace. The fetish priest, according to information, reportedly produced a recorded conversation as proof that Degagbe had secretly sought to hire him to murder some members of the NPP at his shrine. In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Kofi Brako noted that though the electoral area was an NDC stronghold, some of the areas youth who were disappointed with the ruling governments performance defected to the NPP. Mr. Brako, who expressed shock at Degagbes alleged plot to have him killed, said, the youth started organizing for the NPP as volunteers for the forthcoming elections, adding that perhaps sensing danger for his party in the next elections Kojogah decided to consult the fetish priest. He was not worried about the matter and that he was focusing on his political ambition of becoming the next MP for Tema-East in a bid to address the plight of his people. Degagbe has however denied the allegations following the fetish priests testimony at the chiefs palace. He stated that he had neither been to the shrine nor contracted the fetish priest to perform any rituals for him. The evidence presented is bogus, he said. The fetish priest is said to have mentioned that since Degagbe had denied the allegation, including the recorded evidence, he would pursue the case at Nogokpo, a powerful shrine in the Volta region. The case has meanwhile been adjourned to a later date to permit the chief and his elders conduct further investigations into the matter.
