Executives of the National Democratic Congress will hold a meeting today over threats by the National Chairman�s wife that she will vote �skirt and blouse� in the 2012 general elections. Comfort Adubea Adjei, told Citi News she will not campaign for the newly elected parliamentary candidate of the NDC for the Akropong constituency because the latter is not a true member of the party. Mrs. Adjei, who was beaten by Margaret Ansah at the NDC parliamentary primaries held over the weekend, said the winner was sponsored by the incumbent NPP MP for the area, W. O. Boafo with a whopping amount to campaign against her. She said she will campaign for President John Evans Atta Mills in 2012 but cannot do same for her own parliamentary candidate. However, the a deputy National Organiser of the NDC says Mrs Adjei�s threat is unfortunate; doubting if she really did say that. Speaking on the Big Bite on Xfm 95.1, Joshua Hamidu Akamba said Madam Comfort Adubea Adjei should have petitioned the National Executives if she had proof that her opponent; who both the Regional and National Vetting Committees had cleared, was dealing in some unfair tactics. Touting the credentials of Mrs Adjei�s husband (the NDC�s National Chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei), Joshua Akamba said he would be surprised should Mrs Adjei carry through with her threat. �It is unfortunate because a vetting committee vetted all the candidates and so if she was cleared by the regional vetting committee and the national team, she being the Chairman�s wife, why did she not bring a petition before us to notify us, but for her to go into the election to lose only to make such utterances? I don�t even want to believe it�. �The husband is a man who is very firm and strong and thinks about the party; so I don�t want to think that the wife will say a thing like that. I will be surprised if she did say it�Granted that she said it, we will invite her or we will make an appeal to the Functional Executive Committee meeting which normally meets on Tuesdays to prove it,� he said.
