Tricky Test For Unbeaten Duo Of Asante Kotoko And Ebusua Dwarfs

The unbeaten run of Premier League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs comes under severe test as the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League enters the ninth week on Wednesday with interesting pairings at the various league centres. In-form Kotoko travel to Bekwai to face New Edubiase FC whilst Dwarfs host defending champions, Berekum Chelsea at the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast in the top-liners of the mid-week matches. The two Clubs remain unbeaten in the eight-week old premiership and face yet tall mountain tasks in their quest to hang onto the enviable records. Fresh from their 4-1 spanking of debutants Wassaman United during the weekend, the Porcupine Warriors face a daunting task in New Edubiase, a side with a strong home record. On current form, Kotoko seem the favourites with their twin strikers of Ahmed Toure and Nathaniel Asamoah in the form of their lives but in Emmanuel Baffour, the hosts boast of the most dangerous front man in the League at the moment. Baffour has scored eight times in eight matches with most of his goals coming at home, a reason the Kotoko defense of Awal Mohammed, Ohene Brenya, Yaw Frimpong and Baba Abdul Rahman must be wary of his attacking instincts. At Cape Coast, surprise packets Ebusua Dwarfs will hope to add Chelsea to their list of victims by forcing a bitter pill down the throat of the league holders. Chelsea appear to have found their winning feet in new coach Hans Van der Plyum and the Cape Coast match will serve the toughest test of the Dutchman, who was handed a five-match probation. Being the final match of his probationary period, Van der Plyum will be hoping to pass with distinction with the maximum points, to regularise his stay at the helm of the League champions. Centenary achievers, Accra Hearts of Oak will welcome Aduana Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium in a spirited mood after returning from Wa unscathed against All Stars over the weekend. Heart of Lions battle it out with Tema Youth at their home base of Kpando, while debutants Bechem United will face fellow struggllers Ashantigold at the Bechem Park with Arsenal locking horns against Medeama FC at the Golden City Park in Berekum. Wassaman United will engage Wa All Stars at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi. On Thursday, Tudu Mighty Jets will face Dansoman Liberty Professionals in a local derby at the Accra Sports Stadium in the final game of the ninth week fixtures.
