Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's Son Is The New King Of Insult

As the country is struggling to find an antidote to the politics of insults, others are forcing themselves to join the insulting fray. One of such persons is Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, son of Ghanas first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Dr. Nkrumah last Saturday sent insulting text message to insult Deputy Minister of Information, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during a political talk show on Radio Gold. The Deputy Minsters crime was that he made submission on the recent happenings within the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) during the Alhaji and Alhaji programme. The Deputy Minister had suggested that it would be important for Dr. Nkrumah to take a firm stand on issues. Dr. Nkrumah, in furious mood, sent a text that read - Tell Sam not to bring his nonsense to me! (Read it on air). Dr. Nkrumah, who was so charged and very angry, again sent another message which also read You can also add that barking dogs like Sam Ablakwa do not scare me or change my convictions! His effusions last Saturday were part of attacks he launched last week on certain personalities both within and outside the CPP. He went after her own sister, Samia Yabaa Nkrumah, who is the Chairperson of the CPP, claiming that some people within the party were using her for their personal gains. As if that was not enough, Dr. Nkrumah went after Professor Agyemang Badu Akosah on Citi FM and said that the super pathologist was behind what Samia said in connection with Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom. Dr. Nkrumah went further to say that he had some skeletons in Prof. Akosahs wardrobe. In the midst of the accusation, Prof. Akosah last Thursday told an Accra-based Asempa FM that Dr. Nkrumah was welcome and that he should go ahead with what he has against him. Prof. Akosah on Eko Sii Sen questioned what Dr. Nkrumah had achieved in politics in the country. He further asked Dr. Nkrumah to tell Ghanaians what he would do in politics instead of attacking people. Dr. Nkrumah, who is widely seen as a confused politician, in recent times, was part of the NDC campaign team in 2008. After the NDC won power, he was appointed to head the National Youth Authority (NYA) but was later fired from that post. Dr. Nkrumah had numerous times said things that were insulting to President J.E.A. Mills. After Samia was elected as the chairperson of the CPP, he resigned from the NDC, claiming that he was returning to the CPP to help his sister to succeed. Immediately after the move, he claimed that the New Patriotic Party Presidential candidate would be a better President than Prof. Mills. However, Dr. Nkrumah made a quick u-turn and said that Prof. Mills would win the 2012 elections on another platform.
