Stop Calling Me Presidential Aspirant - Kwesi Nduom

The campaign team for the 2008 flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has called on the media to immediately stop referring to him as a presidential aspirant. According to the group, the reference to Dr. Nduom as presidential contender is causing a stir in the party as well as frightening other persons with similar ambitions. Addressing the media in Accra on Tuesday, the group indicated that Dr. Nduom will not cease campaigning although he will be relaxed in the interim until the official opening of nominations. Spokesperson for the group, Richard Nii Armah, told Citi News that Dr. Nduom wants to focus on the 98% of Ghanaians who have failed to vote for the CPP in previous elections. From now onwards Dr Nduom is taking a backstage in the CPP to avoid the conflict that has been expressed widely by some leading members of the party, he said. Armah added that Dr Nduom wants to allow a level playing field, so from now onwards he wants to focus his attention on the 98% of Ghanaians who have not been voting for the party than those within the CPP.
