The Quantity Surveyors In AFAG Should Give Us A Break Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has jabbed the "self-styled quantity surveyors in the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) who have come out with their own estimates on the ultra-modern headquarters of the ruling party. AFAG claims the new office complex of the NDC is around $20 million and the group express surprise at the loud silence of anti-corruption agencies, civil societies and the media on the erection of the multimillion dollar edifice at Adabraka, a suburb of Accra. Though AFAG has stated that it is not against the acquisition of assets by any political party, members of the association have posited that development of this structure at a time that, the ordinary Ghanaian is struggling to make ends meet vis-a-vis the high unemployment levels is absolutely not correct, and a travesty of justice to the Ghanaian tax payer be it directly or indirectly. However speaking on PeaceFMs Kokrooko, Allotey Jacobs slammed AFAG for quoting such an outrageous amount of money as estimate for the project. He however added that he has no idea about the construction of an ultra-modern headquarters by the party though he admits that the NDC has held fundraising activities towards the acquisition of a new office complex. He concurred with earlier remarks by Kwesi Pratt Jnr on Tuesday that it is about time the NDC mobilizes communicators to expatiate on such sensitive issues for the public to better appreciate what is at stake.
