Haruna Iddrisu Assures Constituents...

The Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Alhaji Iddrisu Haruna has assured his constituents of his continuous support to accelerate the pace of development in the area to improve on their socio-economic activities. He expressed appreciation to the people for the confidence reposed in him over the years and indicated that the only way to reciprocate such a trust was to continue to provide them with the much needed projects in the areas of education, health, agriculture and other social amenities. Alhaji Haruna who is also the minister for communications gave the assurance during the tour of his constituency to inspect completed and on-going projects. At all the communities he called, the people expressed appreciation for the numerous interventions he had made to improve on their lot. Among the communities he visited were Pagazaa and Chaanzeri where he inspected on-going electrification projects. At Juni and Dalog-yili, work on new school blocks were also completed with the former handed over to the Metropolitan director of education, Alhaji Abdul-rahman Shaani. The MP also inspected work on public places of convenience at Kakpag-yili and a clinic at Bamvim respectively. At Chengna-yili, the minister walked on the completed feeder road project. Some of the residents in that farming community could not hide their joy over the project because according to Iddrisu Mahama, anytime it rained, our community was cut off from the metropolis and we had to wait for days to be able to commute to our farms and other areas. Another suburb where the people gleefully welcomed Alhaji Haruna was Nyohini; Nyohini, where the residents had lived at the mercy of dust over the years. One section of the road from the stadium roundabout to the Nyohini Taxi rank has already been completed with the provision of drains. At the time of the visit, work was earnestly on-going with the laying of culverts from the Nyohini central mosque to the Childrens Home and beyond. The MP assured the people that he would not relent in his efforts to provide social amenities to make life comfortable for the people in the constituency since he was concerned about their welfare. He however entreated communities that have not yet received their share of the development projects to exercise restraint because I will never turn my back on any individual, group or people. Alhaji Haruna announced that 25 communities in the constituency would soon be connected to the national electricity grid. He further called on other stakeholders especially the Tamale Metro Assembly to complement his efforts with additional interventions since the constituency was large and deprived.
