Katy Perry Raises Over $175K For Ghana...

Thanks to her devoted fans, Katy Perry has been able to raise over $175,000 for charity from special ticket sales of her widely successful California Dreams tour. According to the pop star's record label, more than 50 nonprofit organizations will be given a portion of the money, with The Humane Society of the United States, Children's Health Fund and Generosity Water receiving more than $40,000 each. "I'm thrilled to be able to help support the work these organizations are doing to fight and prevent animal cruelty, provide health care to homeless children and bring clean drinking water to communities around the world," Katy said. The money raised will help Children's Health Fund pay for more than 430 doctor visits helping needy and at-risk children, who don't have access to basic health care. Generosity Water will be able to provide more than 4,000 people with clean drinking water, as the money will help build wells in Ghana, Nigeria, Laos and India. Meanwhile, the Humane Society of the United States will be able to fund a rescue operation for nearly 50 puppy-mill dogs alongside its daily goal to improve the lives of all animals. Being an animal lover, we're sure this puts a smile on the 'Teenage Dream' singer's face. Good job, Katy!
