Sack Old MPs - NDC Chairman

The Tamale North constituency NDC Chairman, Alhaji Osman Musah, has called for the amendment of the partys constitution to put a cap on sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) not to go beyond three terms. He is convinced that the older generation overstay in Parliament and that is denying the NDC youth the opportunity to accomplish their parliamentary ambitions as well as attract the youth of other parties. I am suggesting to the partys national executives to amend the constitution so that every MP who goes to Parliament on the NDC ticket should step down for the younger generation to take over, Alhaji Musah told Citi News. Such a practice will attract other parties youth to join the NDC to maximise its votes in future elections, he explained. Alhaji Musah warned that the ruling NDC risked losing many of its parliament seats in 2012 if majority of the sitting MPs, who have been there three consecutive times are allowed to seek re-election.
