National Security Boys On Rampage...

Information reaching The New Crusading Guide newspaper indicates some people believed to be coming from the National Security last week stormed Kokrobite, a suburb of Accra to demolish hundreds of house belonging to private individuals. The information revealed that it was some top Police officials from the corridors of the Greater Accra Regional Headquarters and some National Security operatives who gave the order for the properties to be demolished. The National Security men are up in arms with the elders of Nyanyano, a town in the Central Region to allow the elders take over a huge acreage of land which the elders of Kokrobite claim belongs to them. Meanwhile, the Mantse of Nii Arde Nkpa We of Plenor and Kokrobite in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Arde Nkpa, VII has strongly cautioned stools in the Central Region that they have no business claiming rights to parcels of land in the capital city of the country, saying there is a boundary that divides both Regions. Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, the Spokesperson for the Sempe Mantse, Nii Adotey Otinto II, Mr. Ofei Dodoo warned the Central Regional Stools to rethink about their actions, saying close look at the area indicates that some of the houses demolished were targeted. This is an emergency; we are demanding for justice in this case, if it fails, we will advise ourselves in protection of our lands. Most of the regions especially, Central, Eastern Regions have taken some of our lands, thereby having their boundaries running into us, even our language has been taken away from us and no authority is saying anything, he cautioned. No notice whatsoever was given to the victims, perhaps the greatest danger lies in the perception of a breakdown in law and order in the South-West corner of the Greater Accra Region where almost daily persons engaged in illegal land activities engage policemen to criminalise what should purely be civil matters. In process, the weak and the poor are not only intimated but their ancestral lands are also permanently taken over without due process, they pointed out. Mr. Offei Dodoo called on government to quickly investigate this matter and ensure that not only all perpetrators are brought to book and that all innocent persons are properly compensated. We dont want to believe that because the President comes from the Central Region, he will back them or justice will be denied, he appealed.
