NDC's Communication Team Is Useless - Kwesi Pratt

The editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has condemned the communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describing them as useless for their failure to clear the air over an alleged $20 million edifice the party intends using as headquarters. The ruling NDC has failed to disclose the source of funding for an Adabraka-based mansion, which has been valued at US$20 million by the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG). Various executives of the NDC have on several platforms contradicted themselves in explaining the source of funding with the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, indicating that the NDC owes no one an explanation for putting up the building. However, speaking on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana show on Wednesday, Mr. Pratt stated that the NDC communication machinery must be woefully incompetent for its inability to properly address the issue of the mysterious $20 m NDC headquarters in Accra. He added that the NDC must blame itself for the spin that has characterised the story challenging the party to quickly address the issue. When you open yourself like this, there would be a lot of spin, why cant the NDC tell us the truth about this; yes the building is for us and it cost about five million dollars he said. It would be recalled that the General Secretary of the party, Asiedu Nketia, during their July Congress in Sunyani, stated that a building to be used as its headquarters was near completion. But the NDC scribe has since failed to properly address the issue that has dominated media discussions. Mr. Pratt indicated that the posture of the NDC leaders clearly shows that they are woefully incompetent and dont know anything about their party or someone is trying to hide something. He intimated that the only way to deal with this issue to ensure that the NDC is saved from the bashing is to come out and tell the truth. Meanwhile, the MP for Okere and former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Dan Botwe, speaking on the same show said there was nothing wrong with the NDC going for a new headquarters, but must disclose the source of funding. According to him, if there is such a building then President Mills is aware and must urge the partys communication team to tell the truth about the $20 m mansion.
