NDC Fights Narcotics War Better Than NPP - Quashigah

The Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Richard Quashigah, has claimed the ruling party is far better in the fight against narcotics than the past New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. Quashigah was reacting to the NPP Assin North MP, Kennedy Agyapongs accusation that the NDC is using drug money to fund its political activities following a cocaine swap incident that has dominated headlines on Wednesday. He said such comments are premature and called on the police to come clean on the issue as well as bring the culprits to book. The Ghana Police administration has petitioned the Chief Justice, Georgina Wood, to look into the matter whiles the government gives the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) a seven-day ultimatum to unravel the mystery. The Assin North MP, who has often been accused of drug trafficking, in an interview with Citi News used the latest cocaine swap incident to also indict the ruling NDC of using drug money to fund its political activities. According to Agyapong, the case confirmed that though the Mills administration and the NDC consistently tag the NPP as a party funded with drug money, they rather are the worse perpetrators. He added that he expects the NDC to come out and prove to the whole country that they have no hand in the swapping of the cocaine exhibit with the soda substance. Everyday Nana Addo drug, Ken Agyapong drug, what is happening now, what is NDC going to say. The very thing they do, they accuse their opponents. It is a diversionary tactics that is all they do so they should be ashamed of themselves and come out clean and defend and stop beating about the bush, he said.
