Presidential Aide Picks Nomination Forms For Odododiodioo NDC Primary

Presidential Aide Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye on Friday urged delegates in the Odododiodioo National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary to vote massively for him to bring unprecedented development and progress to the constituency. Vanderpuye, who made the call when he collected his nomination forms to contest the partys election in the constituency for the 2012 parliamentary election, said a vote for him would consolidate the gains the party had made in the constituency . Accompanied by hordes of supporters and delegates bedecked in party paraphernalia embossed with his image, amidst drumming, singing and dancing, Vanderpuye said that his move to annex the Odododiodio parliamentary seat, had been ordained by God and that the presence of the delegates was a sure sign that victory would accompany him at the January 21st constituency primary. He said that he would win the contest by gaining 75 percent of the votes, because By spiritual divination, President Mills will win the 2012 election by 57 percent of votes cast and so you delegates should turn my own round and make it 75 percent Vanderpuye is contesting incumbent Member of Parliament Nii Tackie Komme and another party stalwart Walid Anyetei Laryea. Observers say they expect a keenly contest. He debunked allegations being peddled by his detractors that he does not come from the constituency, tracing his roots to one of the ruling clans in the area, saying, I am very qualified to contest this seat.
