Nana Akua Dwum II, queen mother of Edubiase Division of Adansi Traditional Area on Friday described the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Ernest Kofi Yakah as a useless legislator.
Speaking at the occasion to mark the celebration of the �Amanyiase Nkabom� festival of the people of the area, Nana Dwum II criticized Hon Yakah for neglecting the development of the constituency, especially at the New Edubiase Township.
According to the queen mother, the MP could not boost of instituting a single project at Edubiase and called on him not to vie for the position any more.
She noted that Mr. Yakah is a disgrace and disappointment to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party and the constituents, who voted for him on two consecutive times. �As a result of this we are going to reject him if he dares to stand for the position again. We cannot allow him to be our MP after proving to be useless to the constituency,� Nana Akua Dwum II vowed.
The Edubiase queen mother questioned the competence of the MP to effectively represent the constituents and called for his rejection.
She also accused the MP of making several empty promises to various communities in the constituency. The celebrants heckled him and failed to recognize his presence.
Before this incident, Mr. Yakah was accused by Subin Camp and Asarekrom communities of failing to fulfill promises, stressing that he failed to provide roofing sheets and cement for the construction and rehabilitation of their school buildings.
But the MP, in a response at the event, denied the accusations, indicating that he ensured the extension of electricity to most of the rural communities in the district.
He stated that a 24-seater toilet facility at New Edubiase Zongo was undertaken by him for the local residents there, and pointed out that he was in the process of constructing a bridge in the same area at New Edubiase.
Mr. Yakah said he facilitated the on-going road construction in cocoa growing areas of the district. In his view, the accusations were stage-managed and mastermind by some constituency officers of his party, asserting that he was privy to the statement of the queen mother at the function.
