Ghanaians must be a fountain of positivity to attract God's blessing - ASOFF

The Association of Friends Forever (ASOFF) committed to promoting friendship and making life burden lighter, has stressed the need for Ghanaians to stay united and be a fountain of positivity in the New Year in order to attract Gods mercy and favour. It said in the midst of crisis or troubling times, there should be an obvious difference in how Christians handle themselves and support each other, especially the needy and the underprivileged in society. In a statement signed on Tuesday by its Secretary, Mr Lawrence Quartey to commemorate its first anniversary, ASOFF said, the world was still in need of a Savior because many people were desperately seeking hope but many times in the wrong places. Times are changing, situations are changing, life is changing but God and His love for each of us remains the same. Thats a truth that we must all embrace and draw strength from daily, ASOFFs Vice Chair Fraser Liadey notes in his anniversary message. As the world celebrates the birth day of Jesus Christ and welcomes the New Year, ASOFF urges all to make it a daily responsibility to walk and live the example of Gods love. When we embrace our Savior, joy and peace of mind will overflow from us and positively affect the lives of those around us, Mr Liadey said. The Association also called on Churches, benevolent organizations, and wealthy individuals to help promote friendship, peace and love in a small way they can to make the world a better place to live in. Be the light that shines in the midst of darkness, illuminating the path to lead others to Christ so they can be introduced to our Savior, Mr Liadey urged. The statement said, today unemployment was still on the rise, as well as crime, scandals, medical issues, and many other disheartening issues of life, but once we believe strength and hope come from the Lord, then our lives will begin to reflect that truth and exude hope and life for everyone we come in contact with. Explaining further what ASOFF stands for in the statement, the Secretary Mr Quartey said it is a Christian organization with a passion to serve others and be considerate of their needs. We are determined in our hearts to be a fountain of positivity in the midst of the chaos and God is our source of hope and strength, he said. The Association will be officially inaugurated in April 2012. Activities planned for the first anniversary include prayers, games, donation, dinner dance and thanksgiving service.
