CPP Protests Nduoms Use Of Peoples Party In PPP

The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) intends raising protests against the use of Peoples Party in the name chosen by its former flagbearer Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom for his newly formed political party Progressive Peoples Party. Dr. Nduom left the CPP to form the PPP which is expected to hold its maiden congress February. He has been given provisional certification by the Electoral Commission. He fell out with the CPP after the Chairperson Samia Nkrumah reproached him for allegedly inciting the partys constituency wings against the national executives towards holding an early congress to elect a flagbearer. Citi News sources within the national executive body of the CPP said the party is not happy with the Peoples Party in Dr Nduoms PPP. It claimed Dr. Nduom intentionally added Peoples Party to the name of his new party so he could confuse CPP members to vote for the PPP instead of the CPP in this year's election. Citi News learned that CPP executives will be making an official protest to the Electoral Commission over Dr. Nduoms use of Peoples Party in his Progressive Peoples Party. The source did not, however, disclose when the CPP intends petitioning the Electoral Commission on the matter.
