In answer to a question posed by the Editor of The Enquirer newspaper, Raymond Archer, to tell Ghanaians three reasons that should form the basis of re-electing him for a second term during the third edition of the interaction with Editors and Senior Journalists dubbed EDITORS FORUM at the Castle, Osu, President Mills touted his ability to improve the lives of Ghanaians as one of its achievements. I know Ghanaiansare objectiveand I know they cannot deny that there has been an improvement in their lives since we took overThis government has maintained the peace and stabilityWe have used the resources to provide amenities for them which they have not seen for years and that is what they are enjoying. The growth in the economy is not a fluke. Traditional leaders are saying they have not seen this beforeIt shows what efforts we have made. I have a team, but I will not say we have done everything, we have not. Even in US, they have not attained all they want. This years annual encounter with the media was on the theme, Still Building A Better Ghana. It afforded members of the press (both local and international) the opportunity to grill President Mills who answered questions on the Action Year promises, STX Housing Project, the Woyomegate controversy, the Missing Cocaine/Baking Soda saga, his alleged frosty relationship with ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, amongst others. Defending his three years of stewardship at the annual meeting, he intimated that, 2011 was indeed an action year considering the enormous achievements made across all the sectors of the country as more people were now enjoying potable water, good roads, schools and electricity.
