Auto Mechanic Jailed 12 Years For Theft

A twenty-seven-year-old auto-mechanic, who broke into the room of an artist and made away with electronic items and cash totaling GH�753.00 has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by a Kumasi Circuit Court. Shaibu Osman pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful damage, unlawful entry and stealing. Police Chief Inspector Gulliver Kwabena Tenkorang told the court presided over by Justice William Boampong that the complainant resides at Ayigya in Kumasi, while the convict stays at the Zongo community. On December 31, last year, Richard attended an all-night church service to usher in the New Year and returned at dawn only to find that his room had been broken into and his digital camera, tape recorder, cellular phone, DVD and VCD players together with a cash of GH�250.00 stolen. He later received information that linked Osman with the crime and a formal report was made to the police, who arrested him.
