I Was Dissatisfied With Prez Mills Response To My Question Shamima

One of the co-hosts of Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana show, Shamima Muslim has expressed dissatisfaction with the response President John Evans Atta Mills provided to her question during his (Mills) 3rd media interaction with Senior Journalists and Editors at the Castle, Osu on Monday. According to her, she was totally unsatisfied with the answer given by President Mills. Shamima, who is also host of Citi FMs Eye-Witness News programme, had sought to find out from the President what kind of a leader he would want to describe himself - charismatic or transformational? But President Mills, in a rather tacit reply said we like borrowing words we dont understand. My simple answer is that whatever I am I have enable Ghanaians to have water, extended roads, removed schools under trees, migrate Ghanaians unto the Single Spine Salary Structure, call it madam what you may. Whiles some have said the president was a bit too high-handed in his response, others believe the journalist could have pose a much better question. Speaking in an interview on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia morning Show, Shamima said all i wanted the President to do was to use that opportunity to articulate and remind us of the series of leadership strategies that he is using that he believes is leading onto his better Ghana agenda. To her, President Mills lost the opportunity to remind and reenergize Ghanaians that indeed there is a concrete leadership vision that is driving this nation. According to her, a leader has to articulate what he is offering whether for academic or practical purposes, adding that it is the responsibility of the leader to at all times tell the nation about the kind of leadership he is offering. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was a charismatic leader who was always preaching about transformation and within 7 years of his leadership, there was massive development that affected the lives of millions of Ghanaians But for his educational policies, some of my uncles in the village in Wa would have been (peasant) farmers. And if you are talking about transformation, as far as I know, if you say you are offering a better Ghana, it means you are coming to transform this nation. Of course there are initiatives that he has embarked upon that has gradually transforming the phase of our economy but all I wanted the President to do is to use that opportunity to articulate and remind us of the series of leadership strategies that he is using that he believe is leading on his better Ghana agenda, she opined. I clearly understand those words that I used and I was clear in my mind what I wanted to convey to the president so those people who are doing mischief and trying to use the presidents comment to implicate or indicate that some people dont understand the words that they use, they should go to the dictionary and find the meaning of those words, Shamima added.
