Woman, 63, Abandoned At Korle-Bu

A 63-year-old woman, Kalorm Sosu, who was knocked down by a vehicle last month has been abandoned at the Out Patients Department of the Accident Unit at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. According to a reliable source at the hospital, the woman was brought to the hospital on 7th December 2011. She was knocked down by a car at McCarthy Hill and was rushed in by one Francis Adanu. The patient claims she has children; Paul, a teacher and Papa, a businessman who both reside at Swedru, as well as Kofi Sosu a farmer and an Akpeteshie brewer at Nsawam. Citi News checks reveal that Kalorm, who suffered a head injury, has been left unattended to because no relative of hers showed up at the hospital. The information was confirmed when a Citi FM reporter visited the hospital and found some empty beds at the females ward of the accident centre. Sosu appears to have been denied the privilege to benefit from the social welfare department of the hospital which allows some level of first aid healthcare. She cannot remember where she lives or where she was going when the accident occurred. Attempts to reach the authorities of the hospital proved futile.
