Why Are You Keeping My Wife? DSP Tehodas Husband Cries Out

Kwasi Tehoda, the husband of the top police officer indicted in the recent cocaine-turned-baking soda scandal, DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda, is demanding reasons for his wifes continuous stay in the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) custody. DSP Tehoda was picked up again to the national intelligence outfit on Friday night, a day after an Accra Human Rights Court had ordered her release on bail in the sum of GhC50, 000. After being freed on Friday morning, the deputy head of the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Police CID was re-arrested hours later and has since remained at the BNI cells and is likely to spend the weekend there. Mr. Tehoda, who has not seen his wife since she was picked up on December 29, 2011 until she was produced in court this past Monday, is a worried husband because no security official is willing to inform him and their children why their mother is still being kept in custody. I want to know what charges they are preferring against her this time around for arresting her, Mr. Tehoda told an Accra-based radio station Joy Fm. Im very surprised We are at the BNI to see whether I can see her this morning (Saturday). He added: Im only hoping because since last week they have not allowed me to see her until Monday I feel so bad. The kids are coping. DSP Tehoda was implicated in the cocaine swap scandal following an interim BNI report that was aimed at unraveling the mystery surrounding the whereabouts of the substance tested as cocaine.
