Kufuors Involvement In Woyome Saga Stinks

A member of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor is afraid of the skeletons in his cupboard regarding the Woyome saga hence his support for former ministers in his administration who have vowed not to appear before the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). Felix Kwakye-Ofosu claims the former presidents connection in the scandal stinks and any revelation likely to taint his administration that is why he has justified his appointees refusal to honour EOCOs invite. Former President Kufuor on Thursday endorsed a decision by some functionaries of his government not to appear before the EOCO which is investigating the payment of judgement debt to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome, a businessman. Mr Kufuor says he wonders how his former ministers who had serious issues with the role of the Attorney Generals Office in the matter, could summit themselves to a probe by an institution under the ambit of the A-Gs Office. The Attorney-Generals Office itself is suspect; EOCO reports to that office. So if you want me to answer openly and sincerely, thats not the place to take me, the ex-president said. But speaking as a panelist on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana Show, Kwakye-Ofosu opined that Mr Kufuor knows if they go, it will reveal certain hidden things If you have nothing to fear why will you refuse to appear before a constitutionally accepted body? he quizzed.
