Don't Plan On The Default Of Your Enemy Sam Pee Yalley tells NDC

A Public Interest Lawyer and activist of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam Pee Yalley has urged members of his party to stop banking their hopes on the problems in the NPP and concentrate on working hard to retain the party in power. "...in a military strategy, one does not plan on the default of his enemies," he said. The NDC press and some social commentators had a field day following the failure of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo to announce his running mate at the partys Council of Elders meeting. They described Nana Akufo-Addo as indecisive and pandering to the dictates of some top echelons of the party. Contributing to discussions on Peace FMs Kokrokoo Morning Show, Mr. Yalley urged members of the NDC to plan on the strength on their own strategies than on the default of their enemies. He said it will be wrong for the NDC to be waiting for something to happen to the NPP so they can play political gymnastics when they could use that time to propagate the good works of the Mills led government. I want to advice my NDC colleagues that in military strategy, you dont plan on the default of your enemy; you plan on the strength of your own strategies. We shouldnt expect or anticipate that something bad will happen so in case he doesnt pick Bawumia we can start political gymnastics, he warned. He said like typical Ghanaian football fans, anytime we lose, we start doing the maths. Lets strengthen ourselves and propagate the good things that President Mills is doing. We dont have to spend time on this NPP running mate issue and their problems, they will definitely select their running mate, he added. He admitted that the national Chairman of the NPP, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey is a good political strategist and must not be underestimated. As a political strategist, I know Jake...He is making a huge capital out of the situation because he has succeeded in putting Nana Addos name on the political media scene throughout the Christmas period and it comes with its advantages. The NPP and its members know when this decision will be taken, the first quarter will end in March but I wont be surprised if they chose Bawumia, he admitted.
