Trade Fair Launched

The management of the Ghana International Trade Fair has launched the 16th edition of the Ghana International Trade Fair slated from February 23-March 2012 at the trade fair site at La, Accra. Organizers of the fair, which is themed, harnessing opportunity for Ghanas Trade and industry, are expecting over 900 exhibitors comprising 600 local exhibitors and 300 foreign participants to showcase their products and it is likely to attract over 3 million visitors. At a brief ceremony to launch the fair in Accra, Ebenezer Erasmus Okpoti Koney, the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Trade Fair Company (GTFC), noted that thousands of consumers gather here because they have something to look forward to such as low prices, variety of both new and existing products and exciting bonding and entertainment packages. For the business community, he said, they also gather here because of immense business opportunities it held in term of instant sales and networking. He noted that the momentum of the fair had slowed over the years, stressing that Ghanas International trade fair is described as the best in the sub-region. But this is never an excellent description. Because we have what it takes to hold the best trade fairs in the world and that is the focus of the 2012 fair, he noted. Frank Ntiamoah, Public Relations Officer (CEO) of the GTFC, giving the highlights of the fair, noted that the focus is to promote Ghana as the trading hub through international trade fair. Visitors and exhibitors, he said, should expect competitive pricing, one-stop shopping centre, business matchmaking and networking and the launch of products. This years fair is expected to harness international networking opportunities for the local businesses while there would be an entertainment centre and a media centre.
