The embattled businessman and philanthropist, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who was among chief mourners organsing the funeral of Marie Vivian Abla Dogbe, mother of Stanislav Xoese Dogbe of the Office of the President could not attend the event since he was languishing in cells at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Accra. The funeral of Marie Vivian Abla Dogbe (Nee Woyome), the auntie of Mr. Woyome), was massively attended by friends, relations and a high-powered government delegation over the weekend in grand style at the EP Church school park at Dabala, in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region. Many people were seen discussing the arrest of Woyome and the on-going construction of his imposing building at the funeral. Government officials and party functionaries that attended the funeral included the Deputy Local Government Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Interior Minister, Kobby Acheampong, National Service Boss, Vincent Kuagbenu, National Health Insurance, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sylvester Mensah and Deputy Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor. The rest were Volta Regional Minister, Joseph Amenewode, Road and High Ways Minister,Joe Gidisu, the two Deputy Information Ministers, James Agyenim Boateng and Okudzeto-Ablakwa, Deputy Finance Minister Fifi Kwetey, NDC Volta Regional Secretary, Amegashie Viglo and the Deputy Volta Regional Minister-designate, Henry Ametefe. Mr. Woyome who has been at the centre of the GH51 million controversial judgement debt, could not attend the funeral because he was arrested in Hollywood style last Friday in Accra after the interim report of the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) on the alleged unwarranted judgement debt was presented to the President last Thursday. Ablakwa noted that President Mills ordered the arrest of Mr. Woyome and stressed that the President had outlined several measures to address the matter. The report also indicted the former Attorney General, Betty Mould Iddrisu, the Chief State Attorney, Samuel Nertey-Tettey, Paul Asimenu, Director of Legal, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
