I Dont Know Limping Man

Robert Kempes Ofosu-Ware, the Chief Executive of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), has categorically denied claims that he is among prominent residents of Community 1 who knew that Christian Asem Dake aka Limping Man was residing in the neighbourhood. In an interview with Daily Guide on Thursday, Kempes said, I must state here and now that I did not know that Asem Dake was living in House Number 1/J26, Site 21 Community 1 which incidentally is few metres away from my family house in the same neighbourhood, the Tema Mayor said. He noted that it came as a surprise to him when he read a story in a newspaper that Dake lived in his family house to avoid arrest by the police. Mr. Kempes said it is unfair for people make these allegations against me. I do not know what could have motivated them to want to go out there and create the impression that I knew that he (Dake) lived in that house which ironically is also not far from the areas police station, Kempes remarked. He said that even though he spends time with his family members and some friends after work at the family house at Site 21, he does not live there, adding that he could not know of happenings in the neighbourhood. He noted that you and I know how some members of our societies behave sometimes when issues like these come up for discussion. Several versions of the same stories begin to fly here and there sometimes making it difficult for all of us to know the correct version of the story, he said.
